Swatch Portraits

Swatch Portraits are fun and easy to make. They will add color to any room, and give your living space a personal touch. These instructions are from www.thepurlbee.com.

Materials:
To make one portrait.
*A wooden embroidery hoop, in any size
*A square of fabric, at least 2″ wider than your hoop in all directions
*Fabric glue (any type will work)
*Scissors
(Materials can be found at any arts and crafts store)


1. Place fabric in the hoop, pull taught


2. Turn to wrong side, run a small line of glue around the inside hoop, just next to the fabric


3. Press fabric into glue, all the way around
4. Allow glue to dry


5. Trim fabric to the edge of hoop

4th of July Festivities

Red, White & Blue Ribbon Celebration

The Beale Street Merchants Association hosts the 4th of July celebration on Sunday, July 4 in Handy Park.

Live music by Punching Nicholas, Big Jerry’s Blues Band and Patrick Dodd begins at 6:00 and lasts until the fireworks begin at 10:00.
Security will be provided for this family-friendly event.

Autozone Park, July 3, 2010

Memphis Redbirds at AutoZone Park – After the Redbirds take on Round Rock Express, stick around for a fireworks show.  The game begins at 6:05pm

Germantown Municiple Park, July 4, 2010

Celebrate the nation’s birthday with friends and family. Enjoy live music, free moon bounces, games and crafts. Concessions will be sold. Then be amazed by a spectacular fireworks display beginning at 9:10 p.m. The event is sponsored by 98.9 KIM FM.

9:10 p.m. Germantown’s fabulous fireworks show

Collierville H. W. Cox Park, July 3, 2010
The small town of Collierville,TN has their Independence Day celebration scheduled for July 3rd. The festivities will take place at H. W. Cox Park. The party starts at 6:00 p.m. with an hour of music from The Aims Gang. At 7:15 p.m. Almost Famous takes the stage for another hour of musical entertainment. Dani McCullough’s musical talents will wow the crowd for another hour starting at 8:30 p.m. The evening ends with a bang when the fireworks are set off at 9:30 p.m.
